Adam Smith International is one of the world’s leading practitioners in market systems development, with particular experience in the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approach. Our expertise encompasses all stages of the programme cycle, from high-level donor support and design and implementation to results measurement and reporting. 

We are successfully implementing large M4P programmes with the UK’s Department for International Development in Nigeria, Kenya, Nepal, and Zambia. Our team is currently in the early phases of 'design and implement' contracts with DFID in the DRC, Malawi and Sierra Leone, plus with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency in Liberia. We also provide training and strategic advice on market development to donors such as Sida and Australia’s DFAT. Our work delivers sustainable, large-scale impact for millions of men and women around the world.
