Professional Development Scheme
We provide the opportunity to postgraduates and career-changers to experience the real world of managing international development projects. For this, we offer a growing number of annual 24-month places on our Professional Development Scheme. You will have the opportunity to rotate in three out of four of the business lines; Business Services, Business Growth, Regional Operations and Technical Services.
Employees on the Professional Development Scheme are mentored and tasked with real challenges, including opportunities such as:
- Technical and financial proposals;
- Understanding local delivery contexts and political economies;
- Working on corporate projects and business services;
- Managing complex delivery tasks and project risks;
- Writing business improvement plans for some part of the business.
The scheme also includes the opportunity of extensive travel to our overseas locations such as such as Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sierra Leone during your last six months of the scheme.

Everyone who participates in our scheme is carefully selected. You should be able to build productive relationships with people from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds, to work effectively in politically sensitive and physically challenging environments and to work well within a team.
