Shortlisted for 6 British Expertise Awards!

On 4 December, 2014 Adam Smith International was shortlisted for six awards at the British Expertise Awards - more than any other company.

The awards recognise outstanding achievements of the UK professional services sector internationally.
 
Our Growth and Employment in States 3 (GEMS3) programme which is promoting a better business environment for people in Nigeria was shortlisted for two awards. Working across nine Nigerian states, GEMS3 has generated over GBP 17.2 million of additional income for more than 400,000 enterprises and homeowners, creating over 5,200 jobs. It was awarded the highest grade (A++) by DFID in June 2014.

The Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development Facility (CRIDF) was shortlisted for another award and our Nepal Centre for Inclusive Growth project was recognised for securing Nepal’s largest ever foreign investment - $1.4 billion to develop the largest hydroelectric power station in Nepal.

Our Tamkeen project, the first major UK non-humanitarian programme in Syria, has also been shortlisted for building the practices of good governance in the absence of formal institutions.

  • Outstanding International Development Project: Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development Facility (CRIDF)
  • Outstanding International Development Project (non-infrastructure): Growth & Employment in States 3 (GEMS3)  and Nepal Centre for Inclusive Growth (CIG)
  • Outstanding International Development Project in a Fragile State (non-infrastructure): Tamkeen Al Mubadarat Al Mahalia  and Growth & Employment in States 3 (GEMS3)
