Trade policy reform

ASI advised on development of trade policy and trade-related legislation for the Palestinian Authority (PA). Under the Oslo Accord, the PA was given responsibility for certain trade matters including standards and certification and received customs income under a Revenue Sharing agreement. ASI advised on the underlying formula of the revenue sharing agreement and a transitional tariff schedule. ASI also implemented a wide-ranging work programme on sanitary and phyto-sanitary issues covering certification, negotiation and support measures for exporters.
