Support to civil society organisations involved in monitoring and mitigating the impact of economic reforms

ASI conducted a series of activities to improve the dialogue between Government and civil society in a number of cross-cutting social and economic policy areas such as pensions and redundancy programmes. ASI provided training over a two year period for a range of new think tanks and lobbying groups on policy processes and means to influence government and set up, working with USAID funded partners, a range of regular working groups at which government and CSOs considered particular policy issues/areas ASI was also charged with working with the National Statistical Institute to improve the quality and availability of data and, in a third component of the program, established a policy unit within the Office of the Prime Minister charged a) with the management and co-ordination of cross cutting policy issues and b) to act as a point of contact between government and think tanks and other CSOs.
