Reform of national security decision-making & operations

Region: East Africa
Country: Sudan

ASI is currently supporting the Government of South Sudan to develop an effective security decision making architecture with the capacity to provide effective analysis and coordinate implementation of policy. We are undertaking a Functional Review of the existing institutions and agencies involved in the security decision making architecture; synthesising the lessons learned from simulation exercises and developing  proposals for adjusting and strengthening the existing architecture; facilitating initial discussions between senior officials on those adjustments to produce an outline of a reformed architecture for making decisions and developing policies on security issues. The objective of our work is to enable the Government to formulate and implement technically sound security policies in response to external and internal threats.
