Public sector reform

ASI advised the Government on service standards improvement, deregulation and executive agency creation that would produce demonstrable benefits to users of public services. ASI selected pilot bodies for implementation, and organised a seminar on deregulation for ministerial legal advisers. The seminar resulted in the formation of an inter-departmental group on deregulation, and led to the adoption of ‘four questions and nine principles’ with which to test existing and proposed regulations.
