Public awareness capacity building

ASI provided communications support to a broad range of stakeholders including the Department of Public Enterprises, all infrastructure line ministries, the Office of President, the National Treasury, the electricity and telecom regulators, the Competition Commission, and trades unions, to assist them in implementing Government of South Africa's restructuring targets. The project had a strong emphasis on building communications capacity in government. ASI began support through a process of widespread qualitative research with key union and worker and consumer groups.  This attitudinal research then fed into the design and implementation of a Government wide communications master plan.
