Foreign investment capacity enhancement

The objective was to help create a progressive environment for FDI in Laos so as to accelerate and increase inflows of investment into Laos.  This was done by improving the existing framework for FDI as well as the relevant laws and regulations.  ASI assisted with the creation of more effective institutional coordination mechanisms critical to raise the investment realisation rate and reduce bureaucratic obstacles to investment.  This included consolidating the approvals process, proposing a clear allocation of responsibilities between agencies, and specifying the required legal modifications to enable the necessary delegation of authority.
