Establishment and support to the Privatisation Agency

Country: ZimbabweASI worked with the Privatisation Agency of Zimbabwe (PAZ), which it help set up, since its inception in 1999 until 2001. The PAZ was responsible for implementing most privatisation transactions as well as participating in the privatisation and regulation of the infrastructure. The initial project focus was strengthening the institutional capacity of the PAZ and training the staff, many of whom did not have the requisite experience to fulfil their job descriptions without training and institutional support. Later on in the project the focus shifted to privatisation strategy and transactions.
