ENABLE programme is launched in Nigeria
ASI, in partnership with the Springfield Centre, has officially launched the Enhancing Nigerian Advocacy for a Better Business Environment (ENABLE) programme. The first week of June saw launch events in Lagos, Kano and Abuja, well attended by private sector representatives from business associations and media groups. ENABLE is a DFID funded programme that works with private sector groups (primarily business associations and business media) to improve the environment for business advocacy in Nigeria.
ENABLE commenced operations before the official launch events and has already entered into partnership with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on an initiative to produce monthly 5 minutes audio clips on business to be distributed to radio stations across the country. The clips will report on everyday business environment issues faced by Nigerian businesses. ENABLE also aims to support NAN to produce a monthly, 25 minute video clip, recorded in Abuja, that will bring together government officials and private sector people face-to-face to discuss topical business issues.
