Service type: Parliamentary, media and civil society support

ASI provided support to the Palestinian authorities in the revision of the Palestinian constitution. We conducted an analysis of each of the major clauses in the draft constitution, describing the alternatives available in each case, and commenting on the significance of each and the practical implications of each for the Palestinian state. We proposed drafting changes in the legal text where these could improve the quality of the text We also examined regional Arab constitutional models and highlighted useful approaches that could be utilised in the Palestinian case.
