Capacity building for decentralised service delivery

ASI provided Technical Assistance (TA) to the Regional Governments of Amhara and Tigray National Regional States in operationalising and implementing the regions newly issued legislation and policies for creation and empowerment of decentralised (and autonomous) urban local government authorities.  The task included preparation of implementation guidelines and development of basic rules, regulations, procedures, systems and inter-organizational mechanisms that will enable local governments in the region to functions as decentralised entities.
 
In addition, we supported the Regional Governments in the process of restructuring of selected local government authorities to effectively and efficiently deliver local services and promote economic development and assisted the in the prearation of  investment proposals for infrastructure rehabilitation.
